Experience Maine's Lakes and Mountains by bicycle! Pedal past majestic mountain views, lush, vibrant forests, peaceful lakeshores, and quintessential New England homesteads with classic stone walls defining meandering country lanes.

Cyclists can find both challenging and easy rides throughout the region, from mountain biking down a ski trail to leisurely road biking loops with valleyand river views. The opportunities are plentiful. Be sure to allot time for sightseeing and stops such as visiting the Artsits’ Covered Bridge in Bethel, absorbing some heritage by popping into the many museums and historical societies throughout Franklin County, or for taking a dip at Evans Notch, nestled within the White Mountains.

For those that love mountain biking March and April are the perfect months to hit the trail on a fat bike. With its recent popularity spike here in Maine’s Lakes and Mountains you won’t need to bring your own ride; we’ve got several shops and ski centers that rent around the region.

Whether going for a full day’s adventure or an early morning ride, cycling is a wonderful way to get away from it all and truly explore the region in a unique way.
